When I was a teen, my mother had what would now be collectible Mid-century modern furniture. At the time, the mélange of orange and rust colors were not my favorite. Today, in contrast, this color palette inspires me to collect vintage textiles from this design era and incorporate them into my art. Whether it’s a folk art tablecloth with orange fringe from the 60’s, modern geometric patterns, or Tiki-inspired royal blue bark cloth, you’ll certainly find a variety of textile styles – both vintage and brand new - integrated throughout my work. Each piece is carefully imagined and unexpected fabric combinations are often favored in the design and construction of this series.
